I happily report a big, come from behind victory in Shafter last night. The score was 21-20 Sierra at the half. Sierra added to their lead in the third quarter, and started the final quarter with a 7 point cushion, but Shafter won the final frame 17 to 6 to send the mountain boys home hungry.
Cristian Barrios led the way with 19 points. Adrian Trujillo and Cyrus Parsons had 10. Angelo Senoran scored 5 and Evan Hernandez 4. Horacio Lazaro added two huge points, making two free throws with 14 seconds to go and extend the lead to 4.
Make no mistake, this was a solid win for Shafter. Calpreps.com had the Chieftains as 21 point favorites. Congratulations to the team.
