Divisional Realignment Ctd.

The change in the divisional realignment process is not nearly as sensible as might have been hoped. The point system has its problems, but those aren't worth quibbling about. It is close enough.

The real problem is the crowding of teams in divisions 3 and 4, which does not seem to be changing at all. I haven't seen the full list, but locally, only Liberty is moving (up). There is a reason for the bottom heavy structure. The state CIF rules say that schools with more than 1,250 students cannot compete below division 3 and schools with more than 500 students cannot compete below Division 4 in state playoffs. It looked for a while like the section would just do its playoffs differently, but no.
