Whew!
Like last year, I have been granted the opportunity to take bodily form and visit Shafter during the Kiwanis Tournament. This is always a treat. If you have ever been awakened from a very, very deep sleep, you have some sense of the ordeal it is as well. The blogging always suffers. However, I hope there will also be some positive blog developments from my visit. I return to the motherland with purpose. Keep your fingers crossed, dear readers. For now, I am happy to report that The Bivouac has submitted a little something for the tournament program. We may also be participating as a sponsor. This is something I have always wanted to do, but inflation has sucked a lot of the buying power out of my 19th century dollars, so we will see.

And how long will the General be in Shafter before he's returned to rest in SF?
The Bivouac has become PUBLIC! I hope you approve of the "ad".
Don - I get into Shafter tomorrow and leave on the 30th. It'd be great to see you if you are around.
Randy - The quiet phase is now over. I like the ad very much. This sets a trajectory. Within a decade - naming rights to the gym. "All games will be played in The Bivouac." It has a certain ring to it.
