Taking your tongue-in-cheek question seriously.

At least through Stan Davis' tenure, Shafter offense wasn't all that different from this. The highlights from the late 1990s tend to be Jimmy Laughlin slicing through the defense, but it was mostly 20 seconds of pass, screen, cut, pass... ending with a jump shot. I didn't see the Watts coached teams, but I gather things were pretty similar.

My sense is that Shafter teams had more offensive structure than their opponents until recently, which made the shift to a no-screen, spread and penetrate offense all the more striking. I wonder if Rekosh could have tolerated this were he still principal, believer in the flex offense that he is.
